How to use ButterSwap: A Start-To-Finish Guide

In this article, I will guide you step-by-step through the process of connecting and using ButterSwap directly on Coin98 Wallet.

Quick preparation before using ButterSwap

Download and install Coin98 Wallet

Mobile wallet

Now available on Coin98 Mobile Wallet for both iOS and Android users. Read the detailed instructions on how to install Coin98 Wallet.

Extension Wallet

The Coin98 Extension Wallet is available on both Google Chrome and Firefox. The detailed installation instructions can be found here.

Create a HECO Chain Wallet

As ButterSwap is an AMM on HECO Chain, you need a HECO (HT, HRC20) wallet to start using it.

After installing the Coin98 Wallet, you can refer to the guidelines below to create a HECO (HT, HRC20) wallet, or restore HECO wallets from other platforms to the Coin98 Wallet.

If you are already a Coin98 Wallet user, you should import multi-chain wallets again to get updated with wallets on HECO Chain, as well as other integrated blockchains on the latest version automatically.

On ButterSwap, whether you’re using USDT, HUSD, or HT, you need to transfer them all to your HECO wallet. 

Prepare HT to pay for the gas fee

ButterSwap uses HT for the gas fee, therefore, to start farming on ButterSwap, you need to have HT in your account.

You can buy HT on exchanges like Binance and withdraw to HRC20 wallet to be able to experience the product.

Now everything’s ready, let’s start trading.

How to use ButterSwap on Coin98 Mobile Wallet

To access ButterSwap, after logging in to your Coin98 Wallet account, click Browser on the home screen. Enter ButterSwap in the search bar, tap the ButterSwap logo in the results

Swap

Step 1: In ButterSwap main interface, click Connect on the left of the screen. Your HRC20 wallet will automatically be connected to ButterSwap. 

Step 2: Select Coin98 Wallet from the list. Your HECO wallet will automatically be connected to ButterSwap.

Step 3: Click on the Hamburger icon and select Exchange.

Step 4: In the Swap section you can choose any coin/token you want to swap.  I’ll take the HT and BUTTER pair as an example in this guide, but you can choose other tokens as needed.

Step 5: Insert the number of tokens you want to swap. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding amount of the other. 

Step 6: Double-check the information carefully and click  Confirm Swap. The network will then calculate a small confirmation fee. Click Send to pay.

Add liquidity

Step 1: In the Swap section, click Pool ⇒ Add Liquidity.

Step 2: Choose the token pair you want to stake. After that insert the number of tokens you want to supply. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding amount of the other. 

Step 3: Double-check the information carefully and click Approve BUTTER. The network will then calculate a small confirmation fee. Click Send if you agree to pay

Step 4: The screen will then display the amount of HT/BUTTER liquidity provider tokens you’ll receive. Click Confirm Supply and the system will calculate the transaction fee for this step. Click Send to complete. 

The amount of HT/BUTTER LP represents your share of the HT - BUTTER pool. You can get your assets back any time by canceling the supplied liquidity. 

Farm

After receiving HT/BUTTER LP, you can use this token to farm and receive free BUTTER tokens as follows: 

Step 1: Click on the Hamburger icon and select Farms.

Step 2: Choose your Farm. I’ll take the BUTTER – HT farm as an example in this guide, then click Enable. ButterSwap will then ask you to pay a small fee to join this farm. Click Send to pay and complete.

Step 3: Click Stake LP and insert the amount of LP tokens you want to stake. Click Confirm and pay the calculated fee to complete the process. 

After the transaction is completed, the system will display the exact real-time amount of BUTTER you’ve farmed. If you’d like to collect this amount, click Harvest.

Stake

In BUTTER Pool, you can Stake your BUTTER tokens to receive the corresponding amount of BUTTER 

Step 1: Click on the Hamburger icon and select Pools to access the BUTTER Pools. 

At this point, you may wonder what Auto BUTTER Bounty is?

Auto BUTTER Bounty is an automated function that gives users a small amount of reward when activating it. Auto BUTTER Bounty equals 0.05% of all Auto BUTTER Pool user's pending yield at the point of access. 

You can claim this amount, however, make sure this amount is larger than the amount of HT you need to spend for it. 

Step 2: Select your Pool. I’ll take Auto BUTTER Pool as an example, then click Approve BUTTER. The system will then calculate a small fee. Click Send to pay and complete this step. 

Step 3: Click (+) to start staking BUTTER. 

Step 4: Insert the amount of liquidity you want to stake and select Confirm. The system will then calculate a small fee. Click Send to pay and complete this step. 

Step 5: The system will display the exact real-time amount of BUTTER you’ve staked and the amount you’ll receive. If you want to keep staking, click (+), otherwise, click Unstake BUTTER to unstake BUTTER. 

Note: There are 2 types of fees you need to consider in the BUTTER pool:

• Early withdrawal fee: You’ll have to pay a 0.2% fee if you cancel the staking process (withdraw) during the first 7 days. After this period of time, you can freely withdraw at any time without paying. The 7 days time limit will automatically reset whenever you start staking more BUTTER.
• Performance Fee: This fee equals 2% of each harvest and is automatically collected from your balance. For example, if you harvest 1 BUTTER, a performance fee of 0.02 BUTTER will be deducted.
• When you participate in Auto BUTTER Pool, the earnings will be automatically harvested and restated (compounded) for you with the help of the auto BUTTER bounty claimers.
• 50% Early withdrawal fee and Performance Fee will be burned automatically. The remaining 50% will be sent to the treasury account for community growth.

How to use ButterSwap with Coin98 Extension Wallet

In ButterSwap's main interface, click Connect on the right corner of the screen. Select Coin98 Wallet from the list.

Click Connect to connect with Coin98 Wallet.

To switch the network please follow those steps below:

Step 1: Click on the Web3 Priority.

Step 2: Change the network

Swap

In ButterSwap's main interface, click Exchange.

Step 1: In the Swap section, you can choose any coin/token you want to swap.  I’ll take the HT and BUTTER pair as an example in this guide, but you can choose other tokens as needed. 

For tokens that have not been listed on ButterSwap, you can paste the contract and trade as usual.

Step 2: Double-check the information carefully and click Confirm Swap. Click  Swap to confirm.

Step 3: The system will pop up the transaction details, click Confirm Swap to agree.

The system will then calculate a small confirmation fee. Click Confirm to pay.

Add liquidity

In ButterSwap's main interface, click Liquidity.

Step 1: Choose Add Liquidity.

Step 2: Choose the token pair you want to stake. After that insert the amount of tokens you want to supply. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding amount of the other.  I’ll take the BUTTER – HT pair as an example in this guide

Step 3: The screen will then display the amount of HT and BUTTER you’ll input. Click  Supply.

The system will calculate the transaction fee for this step. Click Confirm to complete.

Step 4: The screen will then display the amount of HT/BUTTER liquidity tokens you’ll receive. Click Confirm Supply.

Step 5:The system will calculate the transaction fee for this step. Click Confirm  to complete 

Farm

Step 1: In ButterSwap's main interface, click Farms.

Step 2: Choose your Farm. I’ll take the BUTTER – HT farm as an example in this guide, then click Enable.

  ButterSwap will then ask you to pay a small fee to join this farm. Click Confirm to pay and complete.

Step 3: Click Stake LP and insert the amount of LP tokens you want to stake.

Click Confirm and pay the calculated fee to complete the process.

After the transaction is completed, the system will display the exact real-time amount of BUTTER you’ve farmed. If you’d like to collect this amount, click Harvest.

Stake

In BUTTER Pool, you can Stake your BUTTER tokens to receive the corresponding amount of BUTTER. In ButterSwap's main interface, click  Pools. 

Step 1: Select your Pool. I’ll take Auto BUTTER Pool as an example, then click Approve BUTTER.

The system will then calculate a small fee. Click Confirm to pay and complete this step. 

Step 2: Click (+) to start staking BUTTER.

Step 3: Insert the amount of liquidity you want to stake and select Confirm.

The system will then calculate a small fee. Click Confirm to pay and complete this step.

Step 4: The system will display the exact real-time amount of BUTTER you’ve staked and the amount you’ll receive. If you want to keep staking, click (+), otherwise, click Unstake BUTTER to unstake BUTTER.

ButterSwap's NFT system

ButterSwap's NFT system contains the following major components:

• Blind Box.
• Dinner Table.
• Auction Market.

The major circulating token in the NFT system is BUTTER and inside the system, there are multiple scenarios in which BUTTER will be burnt automagically.

Blind Box

A blind box is an NFT token in ERC721 contract. Blind boxes can be purchased in the store. Some blind boxes will also be given as a reward for some lucky pools, airdropped, or given as a prize for our board members and long supporters.

We have different blind box categories, each with a different price and containing cards of different quality.

Step 1: Click the Hamburger icon and choose NFT.

Step 2: By swiping to the left or right, you can choose the Blind Box to open. After deciding which Blind Box is suitable for you, choose the amount you want to open. 

You will pay: 

• 500 BUTTER for each French Banquet Box.
• 5000 BUTTER for each Japanese Cuisine Box.

Check the information carefully and click Approve BUTTER.

Step 3: At the right corner of the interface click on the box icon. Result cards will appear in the Blind Box section, select the box you want and click Approve to open it or click Send to your friends.

After being opened your cards will appear in the NFT Cards section.

NFT cards

Each NFT card is an NFT token in ERC721 contract. A card can be sent to your friend's wallet address or sold in the Auction Market. It can also be used at the Dinner Table and earned from the NFT reward pool.

For each card, there is a golden version of it. The golden card is much more precious and more powerful than the normal version. 

NFT cards have a property called family. If all cards within a family are collected, the reward energy of all the cards in this family would be boosted at the dinner table.

Some rare cards may have some special effects, such as boosting all cards' reward energy by some percentage and boosting all farming and staking speed by some percentage.

If you feel that a card is not needed anymore, you can recycle it to get some recycling points. Recycle points can automatically deduct BUTTER 1:1 when you buy blind boxes in the future.

Dinner Table

The Dinner Table is a dining table with a total of 20 plates. Each day, 6.67% of the remaining balance of the NFT reward pool will be released to everyone who participates at the dinner table. With more blind box sales, the NFT reward pool will become larger and the reward earnings of your table will increase too. 

For an NFT card to take effect, it must be placed on an empty plate. If a card expires, and it is stilled in a plate, all its family bonus effect and aura effect will remain.

Currently, ButterSwap has two Dinner Tables including: 

• Monet’s Garden - A table of 20 plates and the price to unlock each plate is 100 BUTTER. There is also a place where the French Banquet cards can be used.
• Mount Fuji Sakura - If you want to unlock this dinner table, you need to unlock all 20 plates of Monet’s Garden. With the same 20 plates but the price for each plate is raised to 300 BUTTER. Enjoy your Japanese Cuisine’s card with the blessing of nature.

How to join Board on ButterSwap

To join a board, you need to stake at least 0.1% total supply of BUTTER and you get a 1:1 BOARD token for participating in other pools. Once you join, you become board level 0 by default (locking period is 7 days). There will be a button to upgrade the board level, in which you can choose to upgrade to levels 1, 2, or 3. After upgrading, there is no way to downgrade. 

There are benefits to board members, some benefits are for all board members, while some are for high-level board members. Because each level has different lock times and you can’t leave the board if you haven't reached that time. This will enable ButterSwap to provide long-term supporters with more benefits. 

After joining the board, you will have some benefits like: 

• Join Board Pool for staking BOARD token.
• Be a participant in BUTTER Dividend Pool where you can you will directly stake BUTTER inboard version 2 periodically.
• DAO tokens can be obtained freely, board members can vote on important community decisions, such as next production reduction time, activity rules, etc.

Note: You can only quit the board after the chosen locking period and only on Sunday (GMT+8 time). After you quit board, you return all the BOARD and DAO tokens and get back all your staked BUTTER.
