What is Evmos wallet?
Evmos wallet is where EVMOS tokens are stored on this blockchain. Users can send, receive EVMOS and participate in the Evmos blockchain testnet. The wallet is owned by its user and no other party has access to it.
Coin98 Wallet currently supports creating and restoring Evmos wallets to interact with this network. Follow our guidelines below for more details.
What does an Evmos wallet include?
An Evmos wallet has 3 crucial information you must note down:
- Wallet address: A sequence of numbers and characters used to send & receive assets to the Evmos wallet. Users can transfer coins to each other through the wallet address. Example of an Evmos wallet address: evmos1pf039ws02s9m8fxwnpt39nu84ertvqmpcchqru
- Passphrase: A security key, or a type of password consisting of 12 random English keywords. You must have the wallets’ Passphrases to restore them. Example of a Passphrase: frozen future chalk knee still kid permit taste elder wife current problem.
- Private Key: Private Key is a string of letters and numbers, similar to a bank account's password. Example of a Private Key: ae627f4d738d85519fd4bcaa5ff0587760c5857367132c598543bcf10005875b
After creating a wallet, you will receive its wallet address, passphrase and private key similar to the examples above.
To visualize, you can imagine that the Evmos wallet is a bank account, the wallet address is the account number and the passphrase is the password.
The difference here is that with a bank account, other people will know your personal information. As for the Evmos wallet, users become anonymous, no one knows who owns the wallet, and transactions only occur through the address encoded into a sequence of numbers and characters.
How to create an Evmos Wallet
The Evmos wallet is now only available on the Coin98 Super Wallet for mobile devices. The Extension version will be updated in the near future.
The Coin98 Super Wallet is available for both iOS and Android users.
After downloading the app, open the Coin98 Super Wallet and select the language you want to use before directly accessing the wallet interface.
In the main interface, you can create a new wallet or restore an existing wallet from other wallets to the Coin98 Super Wallet.
Activate the Evmos blockchain
Step 1: Open the application, click More → Active Blockchain.
Step 2: Choose the Evmos blockchain and click Confirm.
Create an Evmos wallet
Step 1: Open the Coin98 Super App, then click Manage on the homescreen.
Step 2: Click Add Wallet, then choose the Evmos (EVMOS) icon, or the Multi-chain option to own wallets on different blockchains with only one Passphrase (recommended). Click Create.
Step 3: Name the wallet (something you can easily remember or is convenient for later use). Click Next.
Step 4: Back up the Passphrase in a safe place.
Note: These are CRUCIAL information that directly affects control over your assets.
- Copy and paste the Passphrase into the confirmation box.
- Tick the Backup your recovery key box and click on the copy icon to confirm that you have saved your Passphrase/Private key. Keep the key in a safe place and do not disclose it to anyone, otherwise, your account is at risk of being stolen.
- Tick the two remaining boxes to confirm that you understand the risks if you lose your Passphrase.
Click Create Wallet.
Once finished, you can go to Manage → Manage All Wallets to check the newly created Evmos wallet.
How to use the Evmos wallet
Receive tokens
Receiving tokens is similar on the mobile and desktop versions, therefore, you can follow these steps for both.
Step 1: Click the Evmos wallet on the home screen.
Step 2: Click Receive.
Step 3: Copy the wallet address or use the QR code, then send tokens to this address.
Send tokens
Sending tokens is similar on the mobile and desktop versions, therefore, you can follow these steps for both.
Step 1: Click the Evmos wallet on the home screen.
Step 2: Click Send.
Step 3: Choose the token and insert the amount, as well as the recipient’s wallet address. Adjust the Gas slider as preferred, then slide the Send bar to confirm.
You can also click Send on the home screen, then choose the wallet that contains the token you want to send.
Note: The gas fee on the Evmos blockchain is paid with a small amount of EVMOS.

Is it safe to store tokens in the Evmos wallet?
Coin98 Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, meaning you have full control over your assets. No one can access your wallet except yourself, unless you disclose the passphrase/private key to others.
Is it possible to create multiple Evmos wallets?
Absolutely! You can create as many Evmos wallets as you like. Each wallet will have a different address and passphrase, so remember to back them all up. It is also recommended to name them accordingly for easy management.
