How to connect Fantom Network to MetaMask? This article will introduce a step-by-step guide to connect Fantom Network to MetaMask.

MetaMask and Fantom Network are the two reputable names in the crypto space. In this tutorial, we will introduce you to MetaMask and Fantom, and how to add Fantom to MetaMask.

About Metamask and Fantom Blockchain

What is MetaMask?

MetaMask, owned by ConsenSys, is a crypto wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain, available for users as a web browser extension and a mobile wallet. As a crypto gateway, MetaMask can be used to connect to other blockchains besides Ethereum.

MetaMask Website:

In November 2021, MetaMask surpassed the 21M Monthly Active Users milestone, making it the most popular Ethereum-based wallet. Later on, in March 2022, it raised $450M in a Series D round, valuing it at $7B.

Notable features of MetaMask:

  • Friendly and easy-to-use UI.
  • Easy to interact with other supported Dapps.
  • An in-app DEX aggregator that allows users to swap ERC20 tokens natively.
  • Data is owned by users who hold the passphrase.

What is Fantom?

Fantom is a fast, cheap, scalable, decentralized, and secure blockchain platform. Not only does Fantom support DeFi development, but it also develops for institutional and governmental demands, such as Financial Markets, Institutional Finance, CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), Real Estates, Smart Healthcare,...

Fantom Website:

Fantom blockchain uses FTM as the native token, serving as the gas fee (the fee you need to pay to the network).

Highlights of Fantom:

  • Scalable: Fantom is a network of networks, whereas each one built on Fantom is independent of another.
  • Secure: Fantom implements the Proof-of-Stake mechanism, which is different from Proof-Of-Work used by both Bitcoin and Ethereum.
  • Vibrant Dapps: The Fantom ecosystem has grown tremendously recently. There have been more than 200+ dApps, with some quality projects being available on Fantom namely Curve, SushiSwap, Yearn,...

Since Fantom is fully compatible with Ethereum, it can be connected via MetaMask. Using MetaMask lets users interact with Dapps on Fantom such as SpiritSwap to swap tokens.

Furthermore, Coin98 Super App also supports Fantom Network. You can create FRC-20 wallets on the Coin98 Super App.
