What is EthereumPOW Wallet? How to use ETHW Wallets
EthereumPOW is a hard fork that keeps its predecessor's Proof of Work mechanism after The Merge event, which took place in September 2022. ETHW was neither supported by the Ethereum founder - Vitalik nor Ethereum Foundation, thereby dividing the community into many different opinion sides, of which EthereumPOW supporters are mainly miners.
Although only launched for a short time, EthereumPOW has received a lot of attention from the community, leading to a series of projects being born to keep up with this trend.
If your Ethereum wallet previously had ETH, then try to restore the EthereumPOW blockchain to see if there are any surprises. And to interact with this network, of course you need an EthereumPOW wallet. In this article, I will show you how to create an EthereumPOW (ETHW ERCW20 ERCW721) wallet in detail.
What is EthereumPOW Wallet?
EthereumPOW wallet is a place to store ETHW and ERCW20, ERCW721 token standards on this blockchain platform. Users can use it to send and receive ETHW, ERCW20, ERCW721 tokens, as well as interact with applications on the EthereumPOW blockchain.
The wallet is owned by its user and no other party has access to it.
What does the EthereumPOW wallet address include?
EthereumPOW wallet has 3 crucial information you must take note:
- Wallet address: A sequence of numbers and characters used to send & receive assets to the EthereumPOW wallet. Users can transfer coins to each other through the wallet address. Example of an EthereumPOW wallet address: 0x4184CED912A14E6AD2Ad4F4Cb3026aC866153c4d
- Passphrase: A security key, or a type of password consisting of 12 random English keywords. You must have the wallets’ Passphrases to restore them. Example of a Passphrase: cost pen hat cat rubber eye maximum piece sister dynamic trial female.
- Private Key: Private Key is a string of letters and numbers, similar to a bank account's password. Example of a Private Key: 0x2148e23b3690edfefc94c47a0542a4cd6ff9fcac956fa5b31cdc1b09ad32cd22
After creating a wallet, you will receive its wallet address, passphrase and private key, similar to the examples above.
To visualize, you can imagine that the EthereumPOW wallet is a bank account, the wallet address is the account number and the passphrase is the password.
The difference here is that with a bank account, other people will know your personal information. As for the EthereumPOW wallet, users become anonymous, no one knows who owns the wallet, and transactions only occur through the address encoded into a sequence of numbers and characters.
Where to create an EthereumPOW wallet?
There are many digital wallets that currently support EVM blockchains, including EthereumPOW. Here are some of the most popular wallets:
Coin98 Super App
Coin98 Super App contains Coin98 Wallet, a non-custodial wallet used to store multi-chain crypto assets and NFTs, including those in the EthereumPOW ecosystem.
After creating the EthereumPOW wallet on Coin98 Wallet, users can experience all its features, such as the DApp Browser, the Terminal toolkit, Coin98 Staking, etc.
Metamask
Metamask is one of the popular wallets in crypto, as it has been adopted by numerous DApps and has a dominating number of users compared to other crypto wallets on the market. Just like its predecessor Ethereum, the Proof of Work version is also supported by Metamask.
With Metamask, you don’t have to worry about not being able to connect with a DApp, since most DApps have already been in their list of integrations.

How to create an EthereumPOW Wallet on mobile devices
The EthereumPOW wallet is now only available on the Coin98 Super App for mobile devices. The Extension version will be updated in the near future.
Download and install the Coin98 Super App
The Coin98 Super App is available for both iOS and Android users.
After downloading the app, open the Coin98 Super App and select the language you want to use before directly accessing the wallet interface.
In the main interface, you can create a new wallet, or restore an existing wallet from other platforms to the Coin98 Super App.
Activate the EthereumPOW blockchain
Step 1: Open the application, click More → Active Blockchain.
Step 2: Choose the EthereumPOW blockchain to activate. and click Confirm.
Create an EthereumPOW wallet
Step 1: Open the Coin98 Super App, then click Manage on the homescreen.
Step 2: Click Add Wallet, then choose the EthereumPOW (ETHW ERCW20 ERCW721) icon, or the Multi-chain option to own wallets on different blockchains with only one Passphrase (recommended). Click Create.
Step 3: Name the wallet (something you can easily remember or is convenient for later use). Click Next.
Step 4: Back up the Passphrase in a safe place.
Note: These are CRUCIAL information that directly affects control over your assets.
- Copy and paste the Passphrase into the confirmation box.
- Tick the Backup your recovery key box and click on the copy icon to confirm that you have saved your Passphrase/Private key. Keep the key in a safe place and do not disclose it to anyone, otherwise, your account is at risk of being stolen.
- Tick the two remaining boxes to confirm that you understand the risks of losing your Passphrase.
Click Create Wallet.
Once finished, you can go to Manage → Manage All Wallets to check the newly created EthereumPOW wallet.
